Week 39

I woke up this morning at 5am with persistent contractions. Coincidentally we also had our 39 week check up at the doctors office. The doctor was very happy to hear of the contractions and said if they continue and I move into active labor that our peanut could be here in a couple days. I'm going to spend the day resting and tracking the contraction pattern while Jon is at the office distracted by the thought of what's going on at home. I'm experiencing a state of calm and can only hope to maintain this feeling during the transition to the hospital, whenever that may be. Thinking happy thoughts for a safe delivery and healthy baby boy or girl.

Week 36

Today was my third, and final, baby shower with additional family and friends. We had a lunch at Mom's house. Games included, Guess Denise's Circumference and How Many Clothespins. Each guest brought Lil' Peanut a children's book so s/he will be very well read. Jon and I appreciate everyone's loving spirit during this extra special time. We love you all and cannot thank you enough!

Week 35

Today was my second baby shower (with mom's side of the family) hosted by cousins Judy and Kathy. We had a fabulous luncheon over at Bella's house. Games included, Baby Scratcher Tickets and Baby Word Jumble. We received many nice gifts once again, including our car seat/stroller combo and Radio Flyer red wagon! Thank you all for coming and for your generosity.

Week 34

Today was my first baby shower (with dad's side of the family) hosted by Auntie Paula and Auntie Joann. We had a luncheon and games over at Auntie Paula's house. Games included Name the Nursery Rhyme, and of course, the family go-to, Suck the Baby from the ice cube. We received many nice gifts, including our high chair, portable play pen, baby monitor, crib and mattress. It was an afternoon of great food, laughs, and loud Italian women! A HUGE thank you to all of the family that made the time to celebrate our growing family.

Week 33

As new parents we don't think we will ever be fully "prepared" but we are ecstatic to meet Baby Nascone next month despite it all. As we're in the home stretch now, this month will be very busy with multiple baby showers hosted and attended by close family and friends.

Peanut continually tumbles in momma's belly and most recently began mooning us with rump held high on the right of mom's abdomen. Dr. says measurements are right on track for week 33.

The most important detail still remains a constant topic of conversation in the Nascone household....what in the heck are we gonna call this kid?! We each have our own ideas of naming conventions for both genders but are working on what commonalities in naming that we share.

Peanut's Likes: steak, bread, and sugar (not that different from mom)
Peanut's Dislikes: salad Daddy makes and Mom's bedtime
