Today we had a special appointment at Obstetrix Medical Group in Campbell, CA. There was an ultrasound to look at the Nuchal Translucency, a measurement of the anatomical space at the back of the baby's neck. This measurement determines the fluid on the spinal cord and the associated risk for Down's syndrome. The results of this ultrasound plus a blood test will provide us with the probability of chromosomal abnormalities in the baby.
